Light plane crashes into Port Phillip Bay after colliding with another aircraft

Second plane subsequently landed safely at Essendon airport, authorities say

A light aircraft has crashed into the water off Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula after colliding with another plane midair.

Emergency services were called to Port Phillip Bay about 12km west of Mount Martha at about 1.45pm on Sunday.
