Escaped convict Danelo Cavalcante captured days after intense manhunt
Fugitive broke out of Pennsylvania county prison nearly two weeks ago by scaling wall and climbing over razor wire
An escaped murderer who had been on the run in Pennsylvania for days and led law enforcement on an intense manhunt was captured, putting an end to a chase that had captivated America and terrorized residents of a Philadelphia suburb.
Danelo Souza Cavalcante, 34, broke out of the Chester county prison on 31 August while awaiting transfer to a state prison to serve a life sentence for fatally stabbing an ex-girlfriend in 2021. Prosecutors say he killed her to stop her from telling police that he was wanted in a slaying in his home country of Brazil.
