Spanish football boss had previously refused to step down after kissing Jenni Hermoso following final

The president of the Spanish football federation has said he will resign three weeks after he forcibly kissed a member of the country’s World Cup-winning women’s team.

Luis Rubiales had refused to resign despite widespread criticism for his actions, which came in the aftermath of the team’s 1-0 triumph against England on 20 August.
